Earthshine & Orion Nebula

I spent my 'fall back' hour waking up early to go outside and get a picture (but who are we kidding, the kids weren't going to let us enjoy daylight savings anyway). The moon is just past new, so only a sliver is lit by the sun. Normally when you take a picture of the moon you see what's lit by the sun and the rest is pure darkness, but that's not totally true. Part of the unlit portion of the moon is actually getting some sunlight bouncing off Earth. By over-exposing the sunlit portion of the moon it's possible to take a picture of the moon using only "Earth-shine".

Partial moon taken with Fujifilm mirrorless (1/2 sec shutter, 12800 ISO).

I was also struck by Orion high in the sky to the south and figured I had to try and take a picture of the Orion nebula. The mirrorless camera wasn't able to get much detail without a tracking mount, but the cellphone camera on the Galaxy S9+ was surprisingly good. I was able to take ~15 pictures and stack them.
