SpaceX Crew Dragon

Tonight I was blessed with beautiful weather for a 66 degree space station pass only, a few days after the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule docked.

The dragon docked to the harmony module which means it horizontally sticks out from the station, it's not above or below, so it should be easier to photograph. I collimated the telescope, found my focus, and tried some new exposure settings based on my last space station attempt.

Seeing was supposed to be good according to a forecast, but my images are a little blurrier than I was hoping. Whatever the weather, I still caught the dragon!

I used a 2x Barlow lens, zwo asi290mc camera, 0.505ms exposure time, and a 390 gain setting. All images on this page are stacks of 3-5 frames which were sharpened with wavelets in registax.

The dragon can be seen sticking out on the left side of these images, I've annotated the one below to make it easier to see.

I also created a sped up video of the entire pass. A lot of frames are warped and I'm not totally sure why yet. Wave as they go by!
