Dialing In The ISS With My 3X Barlow

I haven’t had a good ISS pass in a while, a bunch were ruined by clouds. I finally had a 50 degree pass, which isn’t great, but I’ve been excited to try and dial in my exposure settings with my 3x barlow lens. So far I’ve constantly over exposed. This time I think I got it about right, even though it was much lower and dimmer than a nice high pass.

I used my 3x barlow and set the ZWO ASI290MC camera to 0.505ms shutter and 500 gain. Exposure was good but there was some pretty brutal glare from the US segment. The focus is pretty bad because clouds cleared off only 3 minutes before the pass, so I was rushing to set up.

No individual frames were good enough for a photo, but I have a good feeling for the next time I get a 75+ degree pass!
