Venus Conjunction with the Pleiades

This spring Venus has been high in the sky and incredibly bright. A few days ago it reached the highest it would get in the evening sky.

Over the last few days Venus happened to pass directly through the Pleiades star cluster. Clouds ruined my attempt when Venus was directly in the star cluster, but I got it the following evening.

I don't have a great setup for photographs on this scale, my telescope is too zoomed in but my 50mm camera lens is too zoomed out. I zoomed the camera as much as I could and gave it my best shot.

Without a tracking mount I was limited to a short 2 second exposure which forced my to raise the ISO to extremely noisy levels

It isn't the most beautiful image, especially compared to others shared online, but I'm pleased with it.
