Trying Jupiter Again and Enjoying The Moon
/Using what I learned from my first attempt at Jupiter I was able to refine the process a little bit. I was more practiced at taking video through the telescope lens, the weather was a bit clearer, and I was able to use Registax (free) to clean up the image using something called wavelets. Now the bands are extremely visible, and the moon Ganeymede is clearly present.
The moon didn't come out as clear, but it's always magnificent. I think the moon is bright enough that taking a video isn't really necessary, but you get better results from a single well chosen image.
