Satellite Animation!
/For a few weeks around each equinox geostationary satellites have "eclipse season". Normally these satellites are in constant daylight, but during the eclipses the satellites travel through the shadow of the Earth for about an hour. This means that they should disappear from photographs for that time. The plan is to take a series of photos during that transition, and if I play them together as an animation we should see the satellites disappear one by one.
This time was simply practice, so nothing disappears, but it's still amazing it worked!
It's a really short video, only a few frames really, but you can actually get a sense of the stars flying by in the background. We're all set for the satellite eclipse!
