The Great Red Spot!
/When taking pictures of the planets I've never spent much time planning when I would go outside. I have 2 young kids, so I get outside whenever I get outside, and try to get in bed at a reasonable hour. July 2017 was the first time that fate decided to line up and have the great red spot facing my camera. My technique still isn't perfect so it's not the clearest image ever, but it's definitely a beauty. King of the solar system.
The spot is that blurry break in the bands of color on the lower right. Jupiter fully rotates once every 10 hours, so that thing is really moving!
