Olympus Mons Comes Into View

I'm continuing to take photographs of Mars every few days to complete my map of the whole planet. I'm very close to finishing up, but I finally got my first glimpse of olympus mons!

Two years ago I took a photo of Mars with my phone and I think a few pixels were Olympus Mons but it's hard to tell for sure, this time it sticks out beautifully.

Olympus Mons is the light spot in the upper right of Mars. The seeing was incredible, this is very possibly my most detailed photo to date.

I used a 4x Barlow lens, ZWO ASI290MC camera and took a three minute video. My computer must have been running nicer because I got more frames than usual which helps. I stacked the top 20% of frames and sharpened it with wavelets in registax.

If the giant volcano is this obvious on the edge of the planet I can't wait until it fully moves into full view!
