Last Full Moon of the Decade

The last full moon of the 20-teens was December 12 at 12:12am. So on the night of the 11th I set out to take a picture of it.

I haven't taken a picture of the full moon in ages, and thankfully I was rewarded with crystal clear skies.

This image is a photo stitch of 6 individual photos. Each photo was taken through my telescope on my Fuji XA2 with 2x Barlow lens. The camera was set at 1/500s shutter speed and ISO 400.

The stitching was done in Windows Photo Gallery, and the resulting photo was adjusted in Darktable. The only real adjusting I did in Darktable was to stretch the histogram slightly to pull out the difference between the dark maria and the light mountains.

I hope everyone had a good year, and wish you all the best for the 2020’s!
