Mars is Getting Bigger by the Day

Mars will make it’s closest approach to Earth in October, and I’ve already been able to see the planet get larger and larger in my telescope eyepiece. So far I’ve taken three images of Mars in the last few weeks, I decided to put them next to each other to compare the size difference and I was amazed at how clear it is!

Not only is the planet bigger but we can also see more of the illuminated face, Mars now looks full instead of having a night and day terminator. The detail on Mars as it gets larger is incredible, I can’t wait to get even more photographs!
