Most Detailed Moon Yet

I recently bought a new laptop with a solid state hard drive, so I took it for a spin with my telescope hoping that it would record frames faster than my previous laptop.

My first attempt with Mars worked out well, but the best shots of Mars are definitely in the past. I then tried to find Uranus, but the moon was too bright to star hop towards it. Finally I gave up and aimed at the moon, and realized that I can actually see the moon with no barlow lenses. The focus point is right at the end of the focusers range, previously I didn’t think it was possible.

I ended up taking 15 short videos of the moon to create a full mosaic. Each video was stacked and then the final image was shaprened in wavelets and then some small level adjustments were done in darktable.
